The Banneker/Key Scholarship is the University of Maryland’s most prestigious merit award. Full awards cover tuition, room, board, and a book allowance; partial awards provide $8,000 annually for in-state students or $12,000 annually toward tuition for out-of-state students, plus a book allowance. First-year applicants who meet the November 1 early-action deadline and are invited to the Honors College are considered automatically; no additional application materials are required.
